DSF Brings technology experiences to design:retail Conference and Expo

(April 6, 2022 – Warrenton, VA) The Digital Signage Federation (DSF), the only non-for-profit independent voice of the digital signage ecosystem, is proud to announce it will be hosting retail-forward technology experiences inside its booth at the design:retail Conference & Expo (DRCE). DRCE is one of two distinct show floors and content programs featured at the new Retail Innovation Conference & Expo (#RICE22). The DSF is partnering with design:retail to bring the latest retail ready digital signage solutions to the conference, scheduled for May 11-12 in Chicago at McCormick Place. The technology is being provided by DSF member companies Elo Touch Solutions, Sony and Navori.

As retailers look to reimage their stores, digital signage matters more than ever – in terms of blending on and offline together for a frictionless Brick & Mortar experience. “The DSF sees our collaboration with DRCE as an opportunity to help educate, inform and inspire retailers who need marketing technology experiences, but might not have the know-how or ability to assess how to integrate it in-store,” said Len Dudis, DSF Chairman.

“In today’s retail environment
it’s all about communicating
relevance on customer terms, not
just the Brands’ at the point
of decision”

“We are so excited to not only bring these experiences to life for DRCE, but to have amazing use cases to demonstrate the why, how and what,” said Beth Warren, SVP Marketing and Retail Practice at Creative Realities and a DSF Board Member. “But this is not just a showcase, we’ll also have knowledgeable thought leaders on had to bring the technology to life in a way that will be educational and evocative,” added Warren.

Elo Touch Solutions brings the world of interactive experiences to the forefront of digital and visual merchandising, allowing retailers the ability to engage with customers dynamically from the curb to the aisle and in the dressing room. At DRCE Elo will showcase several products inside the DSF booth including its Magic Mirror, Touch Through Glass and Interactive Touch Table. “Retailers can show customers more than their reflection with our mirror technology solutions which leverage floor space, increase brand awareness and basket size,” said Kristen Roubie, Director of Business Development.  “Our solutions remove barriers like store hours and social distancing from between you and your customers, allowing you to entertain them while they wait for assistance, show them complimentary items or give them access to your entire product line even if you don’t have it in stock.”

Content is king, and the key to any digital signage solution is the how well that content displays on the screen.  As part of the DSF booth Sony will showcase its Bravia line of large format commercial displays featuring native support for Android OS®, Apple® AirPlay® 2 and Google® Chromecast™. The displays are driven by powerful Software on a Chip (SoC) technology, which eliminates the need for any additional media player hardware. “With its sleek design and 24/7 hardware the BZ40H 4K professional line allows for extensive content and creative choices, making it ideal to display digital merchandising experiences across a wide swath of retail verticals,” said Jeanne Lewis, Marketing Manager B2B for Sony Display. “Sony’s expertise in display technology brings increased brightness, enhanced contrast, smooth motion, and a wide color gamut for images that are sure to captivate customers in any retail environment.“

As a dynamic platform, digital signage allows retailers to change content to match the department, demographic, season, and even weather to show the right items to the right customers along the path to purchase. DSF member company Navori will demonstrate how its QL digital signage software with AI analytics and Aquaji camera-based platform provides for intelligent, automated and responsive content experiences. “We want to show retailers how they can deploy context aware digital signage with smart content automation using real time data feeds, including camera-based analytics,” said Jeffrey Weitzman, Managing Director for Navori. “By combining AI and computer vision retailers can generate key business metrics which they can in turn use to optimize their business practices.”

In addition to the booth display DSF Board Member and Technology SME for Retail at CRI Beth Warren lead a learning session on “Bringing Digital Content & Communities to Stores: 5 Fresh Ideas to Test and Scale” during the design:retail Conference & Expo. The May 11th session will explore how retailers can effectively bring various content streams together to elevate social and commerce at the store level. “In today’s retail environment it’s all about communicating relevance on customer terms, not just the Brands’ at the point of decision,” said Warren“. As retail execs look to reimagine their stores, this session will show what’s possible, practical and powerful using modern tech stacks to amortize user generated and branded content.”

As previously announced, DSF members who want to exhibit at design:retail can reserve booth space at the discounted rate of $47 per sq. foot. Booth sizes start at 100 sq ft and include 4 badges for staff. Please contact Kerry Klos, Senior Account Executive to receive more information.
